INSTALLATION

At Gropup2Flooring we provide a variety of installation methods depending of the nature of your floor and the type of flooring to be installed

Tongue-and-groove
One side and one end of the plank have a groove, the other side and end have a tongue (protruding wood along an edge's center).
"Click" systems
There are a number of patented "click" systems that now exist. These click systems are either "unilin" or "fiboloc" A "click" floor is similar to tongue-and-groove, but instead of fitting directly into the groove, the board must be angled or "tapped" in to make the curved or barbed tongue fit into the modified groove.
Floor connection system
The general principle is to have grooves on all four sides of the plank with a separate, unconnected, piece that is inserted into the grooves of two planks to join them.
Glue-down method
This is an especially popular method for solid parquet flooring installations on concrete sub-floors. Additionally, engineered wood flooring may use the glue-down method as well.

WOOD FLOORING TYPES

Parquet Flooring

Rich, strong, and welcoming- parquet floor is the time-honoured choice for the South African home and its enduring warmth reflects the essence of family life. Mloyiswa flooring has superior wood flooring for the best values. We provide an assortment of wood floors including quality reclaimed parquet flooring.

The benefit of reclaimed parquet is that you know that it has been successfully used first time round! Our parquet usually comes from large public buildings constructed from the 1920s onward. This was when well-grown, slow-grown timber was readily available. The quality and character of the wood therefore can be exceptionally good. It is sustainable flooring, and even better, the blocks can be wood types which are no longer commercially available.
They can be from species which are now considered vulnerable or critically endangered. This gives them rarity value too so enhance your space with the natural beauty of parquet flooring.
The underside always has bitumen on them. However if you use a modern flooring adhesive to bond with bitumen then it is not normally necessary to clean the underside bitumen off.

The blocks may have marks, scratches or scuffs, and some will be a few millilitres thicker than some which is to be expected with reclaimed parquet. All of these minor faults are mainly sanded out at the end of the process of installation and you should expect that. It is the character that you get from reclaimed wood.

Hardwood Flooring

Having solid wood flooring throughout your home can really make a difference, even if you’re on a budget. Not only do you get the traditional beauty of real wood flooring, you also get practical advantages such as lasting good looks, stain resistance (including wine and food), easy to clean, warm to the touch, hygienic and dust free making it especially good for allergy sufferers. As a specialist in solid wood flooring Mloyiswa Flooring can supply you with a wooden floor made from all types of major forestry wood species such as Oak, Rhodesian Teak, Kiate, Rosewood, Oregon Pine and Baltic Pine.

Laminate Flooring

If you are on a budget you may consider Laminate Flooring as opposed to real wood flooring as not only is it cost effective but laminate flooring is also both easy to fit and maintain. Laminate is highly durable and resistant to general wear and tear, and is also very easy to maintain, making it ideal for busy homes and hectic lifestyles.

Sanding & Sealing

When sanding we provide a method for smoothing an installed floor, compensating for unevenness of the subfloor. We usually do this to renew the appearance of older floors. Our method involves sanding using successively finer grades of sandpaper to ensure even stain penetration when stains are used, as well as to eliminate visible scratches from coarser sandpaper grades used initially. We use the most modern and environment friendly polyurethanes to provide finishes, a process called sealing. Our professional methods will sure guarantee you the most exquisite of floors to make you the envy of your neighbourhood.
